5 Tips For Making Summer Camp Cost Less

When summer comes around, some parents will want to send their children to summer camp. If you are one of those parents then you may be concerned about how much summer camp will cost you. However, there are many deals that can be found to make summer camp less expensive. Here are some summer camp deals you should be looking into.

Consider A Day Only Camp

Traditionally, summer camp involves staying overnight. However, a day camp often runs the same amount of days as an overnight camp with the major difference being that you will have to drop off the kids in the morning and then pick them up in the afternoon. While this option may require a little more of your time, it is also much less expensive than an overnight camp.

Ask About Camp Scholarships

Summer camp scholarships are often available at regular camps and specialized camps. However, you should be prepared to show your tax returns at some camps to prove that you are in need of a scholarship. Specialized camps such as music camps may ask for a recording of your child playing a musical instrument, and a dance camp may require a dance recording. Scholarships rules can vary greatly, so you may or may not you qualify for some of them.

Get An Early Sign Up Deal

Some camps offer deals for signing up well ahead of the camp's start date. The discount that you get can vary a lot based on camp policy. Some camps may set their early sign up deadline to December and some may set it for early in the spring.

Ask For A Sibling Discount

Often there are special rates to be had when more than one child from a household signs up for a camp. If the camp doesn't have a stated policy on sibling discounts, then you could ask for a meeting with the person in charge of the camp to see if they would consider giving you a discount.

Payment Plans

Many camps offer a payment plan for parents, so that you can pay in separate installments. If you do not foresee having all the money at once this is a good option to look into.

Summer camp can be costly especially if you have more than one child that you want to enroll. However, there are many discount deals available to help you make summer camp more affordable.

About Me

Demystifying the World of Modern Education I remember staying at home when I was a young child until I entered kindergarten. However, when I had my first child as a working mother, I realized that it was a good idea to transfer my child from a standard daycare facility to a preschool after I learned how they differ. Preschools typically have teachers trained in early childhood education, while many daycare centers do not. However, I became overwhelmed with all of my local preschool options and had to learn about all of the various types of preschool education offered today before I made my final decision. I was very happy with my choice, because my little one is now thriving in her new preschool. I am now researching elementary school options. I am eager to share what I have learned, and am still learning, about child education with anyone who needs the advice on my new blog!
